Getting to Know Nirbhay Chauhan, Product Management at Quark

Quark knows a thing or two about enterprise content lifecycle management. Its Quark Publishing Platform (QPP) NextGen has helped hundreds of global organizations address content complexities and ensure content strategies support business objectives.

Nirbhay Chauhan plays a vital role within the QPP NextGen product development team, helping to ensure new capabilities align with customer needs. A master in structural engineering with a focus on automation and computational design, coupled with a passion for technology and software, led him to Quark and be on a team that builds software that focuses on a complex, untouched area within the content infrastructure.

We recently sat down with Nirbhay to learn what impresses him most about Quark, what questions organizations should be asking themselves regarding their content ecosystem, and what influences the QPP NextGen product roadmap.

Tell me a little bit about yourself and what brought you to Quark?

I’ve been in product management for over 6 years now, with broad mix of experience in Architecture, Engineering and Construction as well as software industries. With a strong focus on developing user-centric products for enterprise clients, I’ve always been fascinated by how content, when managed effectively, can not only empower organizations, but transform them. When I joined Quark over 2.5 years ago, I learned quickly it was a perfect match. I was impressed with the company’s corporate culture and commitment to transforming the content ecosystem. I knew it was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss, and I’ve been fortunate to have the chance to work with a company – and product team – that’s so forward-thinking and willing to take on large-scale content challenges.

Smart Content

You see organizations face many challenges in managing their content ecosystem? Where do you see them struggle the most?

One of the biggest challenges I see is in their ability to maintain content consistency and accessibility across channels while ensuring robust security. Many organizations have content scattered across various platforms, making it difficult to manage and secure. Quark understands the evolving needs of our customers and every investment we make in QPP NextGen is made through the lens of customer needs. QPP NextGen offers that necessary, centralized approach to managing content, which optimizes content workflows with accuracy, reduces redundancy and ensures documentation adheres to data governance and compliance requirements. This means companies can feel confident that content created is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible without sacrificing security and scalability.

What questions should enterprises be asking themselves about their content ecosystem?

There are a few crucial questions enterprises should ask themselves, including: ‘Is our content easily accessible across all departments?’, ‘How well does our content support our brand’s voice and customer experience?’, and ‘Are we able to scale content creation as our business grows?’. These questions highlight critical areas where an effective content ecosystem can bring value, such as enhancing customer engagement, maintaining brand consistency, and supporting efficient workflows.

What are the key driving elements when developing the QPP NextGen product roadmap?

The decisions we make in our product roadmap are primarily guided by customer feedback, industry trends, and a forward-looking vision of content management. We assess which features will bring the most value in addressing immediate needs, while also building capabilities for the future. AI will play a major role here, especially in automating content tagging, enhancing personalization, and providing insights for better decision-making. The goal is to make QPP NextGen a smarter, more intuitive platform that evolves with our users’ needs.

What makes a successful product team?

A successful product team thrives on clear communication, a shared mission, and a commitment to continuous learning. I believe cross-functional collaboration is essential—everyone from engineers to marketers plays a critical role in bringing a product to life. Keeping an open channel for feedback and learning from users allows us to refine and evolve our products to stay relevant. At Quark, we’re lucky to have a team culture that values each contribution and pushes for excellence, which makes our success a true team effort.

Tell me a bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your free time?

I live about 1 hour drive distance from Mohali. In my free time, I enjoy reading about technology trends and exploring creative hobbies like urban sketching. I think this balance helps me bring a fresh perspective to my work. I’m constantly on the lookout for ideas from other fields that can spark innovation in our products at Quark.
