QuarkXPress® 7.2 now supports* Windows Vista™, which contains hundreds of new features and security improvements. Windows Vista also includes an updated user interface and style, improved searching features, and more.
Updating to QuarkXPress 7.2 is free for current QuarkXPress 7 users.
*QuarkXPress 7.2 has been tested extensively and is certified by Quark and Microsoft to work with Windows Vista. Because the majority of QuarkXPress® 7 XTensions® software is not linked to the operating system, XTensions should run on Windows Vista without any issues. We recommend that you consult with the manufacturer of the XTensions software to obtain the latest information.
How do I update to QuarkXPress 7.2 for Windows Vista?
With the release of QuarkXPress 7.2, the software can now be used on Windows Vista. We have outlined the most efficient processes for updating to QuarkXPress 7.2 for three different scenarios.
Will previous versions of QuarkXPress support Windows Vista?
There are no plans to support previous versions of QuarkXPress on Windows Vista.
Is there an additional charge for the update to QuarkXPress 7 that enables it to run on Windows Vista?
There is no additional charge for this update.
Will my XTensions for QuarkXPress 7 run on Windows Vista?
Many QuarkAlliance™ developers are now working on their delivery plans for Windows Vista support. We recommend that you consult with the manufacturer of the XTensions software to obtain the latest information.
Will Quark® Print Collection also support Windows Vista? Is there an update required?
Quark has conducted tests to ensure that Quark Print Collection works with Windows Vista, but it has not yet been officially certified by Microsoft®. No update for Quark Print Collection is required. You can use Quark Print Collection with QuarkXPress 7.2. (However, there is a known issue with Quark Print Collection and the use of supplemental languages.)
Will Quark Interactive Designer also support Windows Vista? Is there an update required?
Quark has conducted tests to ensure that Quark Interactive Designer™ 1.01 works with Windows Vista, but it has not yet been officially certified by Microsoft. No update for Quark Interactive Designer is required, but you must update to QuarkXPress 7.
