Windows® only: The script (“QXPStartup.bat”) used for Citrix support does not run on client computers using an operating system language other than U.S. English. As a workaround, the system administrator must edit the “QXPStartup.bat” batch file and modify the startup path (Start menu > Programs > Startup) to match the localized startup path of the operating system.
Mac OS® only: Attempting to open a project (located on a network volume) from the File List area (File menu or Open submenu) displays “File not found [-43].” Click OK in the alert to display the Open dialog box.

Mac OS only: Using an AppleScript® to print only the odd pages of a layout prints all the pages instead.
Windows only: The content of a .pdf file imported into a QuarkXPress layout is invisible if the zoom value is set to maximum or above 650%. However, the layout prints correctly.
Windows XP only: If you check Repeat for all conflicts and click Use New at the first instance of a conflict when importing a Microsoft® Word file that contains a Character style sheet (File > Get Text), with Include Style Sheets checked (Get Text dialog box), the Style Sheet Conflict dialog box will not display again.
Windows XP only: When printing to a PostScript® printer, the print output may not match the settings defined in the Properties dialog box.
Mac OS v10.3.3 only: When you use an AppleEvent script to cut and paste a text box, the Send & Bring command in the context menu and Send Backward, Send to Back, Bring Forward, and Bring to Front commands in the Item menu are unavailable.
The content mode in the Tools palette changes to item mode when you duplicate a table; however, the Tools palette still displays the Content tool.
Windows XP only: When you select the URL of the hyperlink as a file on the network volume, the hyperlink path is incorrrect in the New Hyperlink dialog box.

Mac OS v10.3.5 only: Accent marks on capital letters such as Á or É do not display in the first line of the text in a layout, even if you choose Cap + Accent from the Minimum pop-up menu (Modify dialog box > Text tab First Baseline area). However, this is only a display problem.
Windows XP and Mac OS v10.3.5 only: Opening a QuarkXPress 3.x document containing an image with a clipping path displays an incorrect value in the Type pop-up menu (Modify dialog box > Clipping tab). As a workaround, open the 3.x document in QuarkXPress 4.x, save it as version 4.0 document, and then open it in QuarkXPress 6.5.
Mac OS v10.3.5 only: You cannot export a QuarkXPress layout as a .pdf file (File > Export > Layout as PDF) unless you set a generic printer as the default.

If the QuarkVista XTensions software is not loaded while opening a project containing images with QuarkVista picture effects applied, an alert displays. Opening the same project in an earlier version of QuarkXPress (6.0 or 6.1) does not display any alert and the images that have QuarkVista picture effects applied to them print without any picture effects.
Changing the settings of an effect by choosing the effect from the context menu causes the effect to preview, even if that effect is unchecked in the Picture Effects palette. As a workaround, check and then uncheck the effect in the Picture Effects palette.
All picture effects are removed and will not print when saving a QuarkXPress project as a QuarkXPress document. However, if a picture has a status of Missing (Utilities > Usage > Pictures > Status column), QuarkXPress does not reconstruct the preview and displays the picture in the QuarkXPress document with picture effects applied. As a workaround, update the picture before saving as an earlier version or update the picture when you open the QuarkXPress project as a QuarkXPress document.
Saving an indexed color TIFF image (File > Save Picture) with Same as Original chosen from the Color Mode pop-up menu converts its color mode to RGB.
Relinking a picture box during Save Picture or Collect for Output operation may cause the picture to skew or shift slightly if you are rendering a non-proportionate scale and rotation at the same time.

Mac OS 10.3.5 only: No data displays in the PSD Import palette when you import an Adobe Photoshop image, modify its opacity settings in Adobe Photoshop, and then add a layer with data. It also displays an alert: “Layers for this image now supported.” As a workaround, you must import the image again.
When you select an equation box to view its trap information (Window > Show Trap Information), the application considers it a picture box rather than a text box. Choosing Overprint or Knockout from the Picture pop-up menu in the Trap Information palette and entering text next to the equation box in the layout deletes the contents of the equation box. Also, the Equation Builder window does not display when you double-click the equation box.
If you align multiple equations (Utilities > Mathematical Equations > Align Equations) and perform an undo operation on selected equations, instead of undoing the alignment change, the last equation box is deleted.
If you end a procedure by pressing any key other than Return (Mac OS®) or Enter (Windows®), undocumented behavior might occur. Quark® technical personnel recommend that you press Return (Mac OS) or Enter (Windows) to end each procedure.

Windows only: In the Equation Builder window, you are unable to apply the outline, underline, and shadow typestyles to equations.
Windows only: Umlauts in equations in a QuarkXPress layout might not display in the PDF file (File > Export > Layout as PDF) if the umlauts use OpenType® fonts and the layout text does not contain an umlaut. Undo and redo operations related to XML Plus are not supported.
Layout properties such as Layers and Guides are not retained in the paginated layout.
All static items are automatically sent backwards in the paginated layout.
Paginating a layout containing grouped boxes will ungroup the boxes.

Paginating a template layout with facing pages might result in inconsistent spreads.
Dropping content on the Layout Library palette from a layout and then mapping it to an XML node does not create a content placeholder on the layout; subsequent edits to the content do not reflect in the XML file.
Static text between placeholders precedes the mapped content on the paginated layout.
When no QuarkXPress® projects are open, the application is unable to retrieve font face information while opening a library.
Mac OS® 10.4 only: When you use Font Book 2.0 to deactivate an individual font face for some Type 1 fonts, a missing font alert might not display.
The Minion Pro font might get replaced with Minion Pro Italic font on performing the following:
No layouts are open in QuarkXPress, and you create and save a character style sheet (Edit > Style Sheets > New > Character) using Minion Pro font with the Italic option checked.
You deactivate the entire Minion Pro family except the Minion Pro Italic font.
