The regular release of maintenance updates underscores Quark’s commitment to quality. This QuarkXPress® update includes functionality improvements and enhancements and is available as a free download to existing QuarkXPress 7 customers.

QuarkXPress 7.3 offers default output styles and improved performance

• Default PDF Output Styles: Preconfigured options for PDF output include
  ▫ Press – High Quality/High Resolution
  ▫ Print – Medium Quality/Medium Resolution
  ▫ Screen – Medium Quality/Low Resolution
  ▫ Screen – Low Quality/Low Resolution
  ▫ PDF/X-1a:2001
  ▫ PDF/X-3:2002

• Additional supplemental language support: Users can now take advantage of localized user interfaces for European Portuguese, Russian, Finnish, Croatian, and Hungarian. Hyphenation and spelling support has been added for Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Slovenian, Latvian, Estonian, Icelandic, and Slovak.

• Increased performance and stability: Users will see improved performance when
  ▫ Working with text-heavy and long documents
  ▫ Saving documents locally and on network drives
  ▫ Outputting documents that contain drop shadows
  ▫ Outputting multiple copies or specific ranges of pages
  ▫ Checking spelling

Important note: If you use Mac OS®, you must have QuarkXPress or QuarkXPress Passport® 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.1, or 7.2 installed before updating to QuarkXPress 7.3. If you use Windows®, you must have QuarkXPress or QuarkXPress Passport 7.0, 7.0.2, 7.1, or 7.2 installed before updating to QuarkXPress 7.3.
