Following is a list of issues resolved in QuarkXPress® 7.3.
You could not save a project on a WebDAV server. This issue has been resolved.
QuarkXPress would break a line where you entered a soft hyphen or word joiner, even if there were other hyphenation points available. This issue has been resolved.
You could not enlarge any layout window to 2560 x 1600 resolution. Also, if you used two monitors, you could not enlarge the layout window to any resolution on the second monitor. This issue has been resolved.
If you tried to open a project that was created in a previous version of QuarkXPress, and that product did not contain a style sheet named "Normal," QuarkXPress would unexpectedly quit. This issue has been resolved.
If you selected Enable access to picture in Color Manager preferences (Edit > Preferences > Color Manager), imported a PDF or EPS file with an embedded profile, and then printed or exported the layout, there may have been a noticeable color difference. This issue has been resolved.
If a picture had a drop shadow and a high blur in a layout, the layout may have taken a long time to export to PDF format. This issue has been resolved.
If you saved a project on Mac OS® X 10.4 (Tiger™), temporary files were erroneously created. This issue has been resolved.
You could not save some settings in print output styles. This issue has been resolved.
If you created a PDF in CorelDRAW® and then imported the PDF into a layout in QuarkXPress, the character spacing was incorrect. This issue has been resolved.
If you created a table that linked to an external data source and checked Link to external source and Include Formats, but not Include Style Sheets, some text formatting attributes would not import correctly. This issue has been resolved.
If you used a Czech language keyboard on an English language operating system, you could not enter text in some text fields within QuarkXPress. This issue has been resolved.
You could not save a Composition Zones™ item for external use if the name of the item contained certain high-ASCII characters. This issue has been resolved.
If you imported or pasted new text into the middle of some existing text, the formatting of the existing text would not be applied to the new text. This issue has been resolved.
If you used an Italian language keyboard, some keyboard shortcuts did not work. This issue has been resolved.
If you opened a project that was created in a previous version of QuarkXPress, the text language applied to any empty text boxes may have been converted to US English. This issue has been resolved.
If you used a PDF containing characters with umlauts in a layout, the characters did not display correctly in print, EPS, and PDF output. This issue has been resolved.
The Auto Image option (Item > Runaround) did not work for 1-bit images. This issue has been resolved.
If you imported text, any non-breaking characters were replaced with indents. This issue has been resolved.
If you applied the Small Caps style to justified text and replaced regular spaces with fixed-width spaces, the text would not line up to the edge of the box correctly. This issue has been resolved.
If you created a project in QuarkXPress 6, opened it in QuarkXPress 7, and then printed the project with Separation selected for Mode and Convert to Process selected for Setup in the Color pane of the Print dialog box, all four color plates would always print (even if the document only contained two colors), and Black items and text would print on all four plates. This issue has been resolved.
If a box that had a drop shadow overlapped another box that had a background color and a width or height of more than 1218.5 mm, and you printed or exported the layout as a PDF, white may have displayed around the edge of one of the boxes or QuarkXPress may have unexpectedly quit. This issue has been resolved.
If you applied kerning and a drop cap to a character in a project created in QuarkXPress 6, and then opened the project in QuarkXPress 7, the kerning would display incorrectly. This issue has been resolved.
If a box with a border and an image overlapped another box with a border and an image, and you printed the layout to a PostScript® printer or exported it as a PDF, the border did not print correctly. This issue has been resolved.
You could not convert a project with German, Swiss German, or Reformed German text and style sheets to Swiss German Reformed. This issue has been resolved.
If you printed, the number of copies you specified to print may have been multiplied. For example, if you entered “3” to print 3 copies, 9 copies would erroneously print. This issue has been resolved.
If you exported a layout as a PDF (File > Export > Layout as PDF), the Export as PDF dialog box would not display if the project name contained more than 47 characters. This issue has been resolved.
You could not align a Tab on an en dash or em dash. This issue has been resolved.
If you created two paragraphs, indented the first line of the second paragraph, and then modified the text in the first paragraph, the indent in the second paragraph would be erased. This issue has been resolved.
Windows® only: The spell checking (Utilities > Spell Checking) feature had performance issues. This issue has been resolved.
If you created a layout with an Output Specification that included a Trapping amount and then evaluated the layout (File > Job Jackets > Evaluate Layout), the trapping amount rule would fail if the layout contained an anchored box. This issue has been resolved.
If you set an image to overprint, and then you printed the layout, the image knocked out instead. This issue has been resolved.
If you entered an incremental value such as +1in the Leading field (Style > Leading), and then moved your cursor to another field, the value you entered in the Leading field would change. This issue has been resolved.
You could not export a layout in QuarkXPress 7 with fonts embedded if the layout was last exported in a previous version of QuarkXPress without fonts embedded. This issue has been resolved.
The line gap for a frame or line may not have printed at the specified line width. This issue has been resolved.
If you opened a project created on a PowerPC® Mac® in QuarkXPress 7.0, 7.01, or 7.02, PSD images would not be included in print, EPS, and PDF output. This issue has been resolved.
If you applied opacity to a PSD image, the PSD image may have displayed at low resolution in print, EPS, and PDF output. This issue has been resolved.
