Known issues in QLA 4.01

  • Mac OS® only: You cannot launch QLA server after you establish a dial-up Internet connection. As a workaround, launch QLA server, and then establish your dial-up Internet connection.
  • Mac OS only: You cannot launch a Quark® application using a remote license after you establish a dial-up Internet connection. As a workaround, launch the Quark application, and then establish your dial-up Internet connection.
  • Mac OS only: A second user with administration rights cannot launch QLA server. As a workaround, change the permissions for the QLA server installation folder. Select the QLA server folder and click getInfo. Navigate to "Ownership and permissions" and click give Read and Write access. Click Select. Repeat these steps for the QLA client installation folder.
  • Mac OS only: The Safari™ browser on Mac OS® X saves the downloaded license file with an incorrect file extension, "QLALicense.dat.exe". As a workaround, rename the license file to "QLALicense.dat" after downloading.
  • You cannot create remote license files for QuarkXPress® 6.52, QuarkXPress 7.01, QuarkXPress 6.51 Japanese Edition, and QuarkCopyDesk® 3.5.x, because the necessary version numbers are not available in the Version drop-down menu in the Application and User Details tab of the Generate Remote License File dialog box (Utilities menu). To avoid this limitation:
    • QuarkXPress 7.01: Generate a remote license file for QuarkXPress 7.0 and then change the file name from "XPress7.0.dat" to "XPress7.01.dat". (You can use a similar approach with "XTension.dat" remote license files created for XTensions® software.)
    • QuarkXPress 6.51 Japanese Edition and QuarkXPress 6.52: Generate a remote license file for QuarkXPress 6.5 and then change the file name from "XPress6.5.dat" to "XPress6.51.dat" (for QuarkXPress 6.51 Japanese Edition) or "XPress6.52.dat" (for QuarkXPress 6.52).
    • QuarkCopyDesk 3.5.x: Generate a remote license file for QuarkCopyDesk 3.5 and then change the file name from "QuarkCopyDesk3.5.dat" to "QuarkCopyDesk3.5.x.dat", replacing x with the appropriate digit from 0 to 9 to indicate the patch number.
