Hardware key installation - Mac OS

Installation instructions are illustrated for the following configurations:

ADB port hardware key (stand-alone computer)

Installation:

  1. Turn off the computer to prevent damage to the computer or hardware key.
  2. Select an ADB port.
  3. Attach the hardware key to that ADB port. You may first need to unplug a keyboard or mouse cable from the port.

    Note: If you must unplug a keyboard or mouse cable from the ADB port, remember to plug the keyboard or mouse cable into the other end of the hardware key.

  4. Turn on your computer.

Installation:

For information on the Network Hardware Key installation process:

  1. Choose Downloads from the navigation bar above.
  2. Choose Product >> QuarkXPress Passport (3.x or 4.x).
  3. Choose your Operating System and Language from the respective drop-down lists.
  4. Choose File Type >> Network Hardware Key.
  5. Click the Find button.
  6. Select the “Network Key Technology” PDF file for your computer type.
 
 

USB port hardware key G3/G4 (stand-alone computer)

Installation:

  1. If you have a USB hardware key, connect it to a USB port on your computer.

    Note: You can only connect one device to each USB port at a time. If you do not have an available USB port, you can use a USB expander hub.

  2. The latest drivers for the Rainbow SentinelEve3 USB hardware keys for Mac OS are available for download from SafeNet.
 
 

G3/G4 USB adapters for ADB ports (stand-alone computer)

Installation:

  1. Download the file “iMate Driver” from Griffin Technology’s Web site: www.griffintechnology.com.
  2. Install the iMate Driver by following instructions in the “iMate Driver ReadMe” file in the iMate folder.
  3. Turn off your computer.
  4. Attach the USB adapter to a USB port (either on your keyboard or computer).
  5. Attach the hardware key to the other end of the USB adapter.
  6. Turn on your computer.

If your computer does not have Mac OS ROM 1.2.1 (or later); download the file “G3 Firmware Update,” and the associated ReadMe file. Install the G3 file by following the ReadMe instructions. Proceed to Step 1 of the USB Adapter Installation Instructions as listed above.

Installation:

  2. Install the iMate Driver by following instructions in the “iMate Driver ReadMe” file in the iMate folder.
  3. Turn off your computer.
  4. Attach the USB adapter to a USB port (either on your keyboard or computer).
  5. Attach the hardware key to the other end of the USB adapter.
  6. Turn on your computer.

If your computer does not have Mac OS ROM 1.2.1 (or later); download the file “G3 Firmware Update,” and the associated ReadMe file. Install the G3 file by following the ReadMe instructions. Proceed to Step 1 of the USB Adapter Installation Instructions as listed above.
