Import and Manipulate Photoshop (PSD) Documents

QuarkXPress® lets you import Adobe® Photoshop® files,files, then hide and show layers and channels, clip to embedded paths, control layer opacity, and apply blend modes — all from right there in the layout.

Traditionally, layout artists had to create graphics in Adobe Photoshop, then export them in an intermediary format such as TIFF before importing them into a layout. With QuarkXPress, you can import Adobe Photoshop (.psd) files directly into a layout.

That means one less step when you’re building layouts, one less file to keep track of, and less time and effort when you need to update images. Best of all, these adjustments are nondestructive.

That means your original Photoshop file is never changed — the effects are only applied in the layout.
