Quark Inc.

Quark ProfileRevolutionizing Publishing. Again.™

Quark was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1981. Named after the subatomic particle proposed as the building block for all matter, the goal was to create software that would be the platform for publishing

Two decades ago, Quark helped spark the revolution in desktop publishing with the 1987 release of QuarkXPress®. Desktop publishing was in its infancy, and most publications were produced mechanically. QuarkXPress introduced precision typography, layout, and color control to the desktop computer, and it delivered those features to designers at a fraction of the cost of proprietary typesetting systems. There are now more than three million QuarkXPress users worldwide benefiting from a new generation of rich design capabilities for print, Web and interactive media

In 1988, Quark began international operations with the establishment of offices across Europe and the Far East. Quark now maintains development offices in India, and the United States; customer support centers in India, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States; and sales and marketing operations in major cities across the globe. Customers in more than 100 countries worldwide rely on Quark® products to create, design, and manage their publications - from newspapers, magazines, and books to advertising, catalogs, brochures, online material, and more.

Today, not only does QuarkXPress continue to innovate in the desktop publishing market, Quark is revolutionizing publishing again. With Quark Dynamic Publishing Solution, we are helping customers meet changing requirements and develop new revenue streams by extending the benefits of advanced technologies across the publishing process. Our dynamic publishing solution is setting a new standard in automated multi-channel publishing by combining the power of flexible layout and design with automated workflows for customized communications across print, the Web, and electronic media.
