Devolia Becomes a Systems Integrator for Quark's Publishing Solutions
Devolia, the technology consultancy, renews its confidence in Quark's dynamic publishing solutions by integrating QuarkXPress Server and Quark Publishing System (QPS) into its cross-media offerings
PARIS - 10/7/2008 -
Quark® announced today that Devolia, the strategic technology consultancy specialising in cross-media solutions, has become a Quark systems integrator. As such, Devolia has added Quark Publishing System® 7 ("QPS") to its range of services. A member of the international Quark Alliance partnership program, Devolia has already been using QuarkXPress® in its technical DevoliaSystem solutions for a number of years.
A multi-media communications specialist, Devolia chose to work with Quark because of its quality, reputation, expertise, and focus on the concerns of the graphics industry for the past 20 years. Guillaume Jarysta-Dautel, President of Devolia, said, 'Quark is a very reassuring brand in desktop publishing and now dynamic publishing, both in our print and cross-media solutions." When combined with its own DevoliaSystem technology, Devolia can provide solutions that cater to the most demanding editorial production, publishing on demand, and document management automation requirements. Devolia also provides genuine added value in terms of cross-media solutions (Web-to-print and shared print content for a variety of publications) as it seamlessly manages interoperability and all of the different media by creating a variety of gateways between them.
QuarkXPress Server and DevoliaSystem
The editorial solution based on Devolia and QuarkXPress Server allows users based at different locations to work together on developing and producing documents as part of an editorial workflow via a standard Web browser. This type of organization significantly reduces the time it takes to update, modify, and approve content and creates economies of scale.
Today, with the integration of QPS7, Devolia has advanced its offering. "Devolia has developed its own workflow management tool, but Quark Publishing System goes even further by providing extremely advanced collaborative workflow management tools," said Jarysta-Dautel.
QPS: seamless workflow management
QPS 7 provides a basic open architecture that aims to provide an independent platform that is easy to upgrade and deploy and can also manage an unlimited number of publications and projects in a single system. QPS 7.4, which was released in April 2008, allows users involved in the publishing chain - editors or graphic artists - to work in the same collaborative working environment. It also incorporates QPS Web Hub, a tool that allows users to create, modify, and view content online for each platform. The use of QPS server scripts makes it possible to integrate with other publishing systems and automate certain tasks to enhance productivity.
A response to new challenges
"Integrating Quark Publishing System into our solutions will provide customers with a better response to specific editorial production and dynamic publishing workflow automation requirements," said Guillaume Jarysta-Dautel. "Dynamic publishing is one of the major challenges facing communications companies. Thanks to Quark, Devolia can now provide them with total peace of mind solutions to these challenges."
"For a multi-media specialist like Devolia to adopt first QuarkXPress Server and then QPS just shows that Quark is continuing to invest in providing solutions to significant and real challenges faced by the publishing sector today," said Gildas Duval, Commercial Director, Quark Southern Europe.
