Quark Names Ronnie Thomson Senior Vice President of Engineering
DENVER - 8/26/2008 - Quark announced today that Ronnie Thomson has joined the company as senior vice president of engineering. In his new role Thomson is responsible for overseeing research and development, user experience, and quality assurance for Quark’s desktop and enterprise products.
Thomson brings to Quark nearly 20 years of experience in research and development, software development, and engineering. Prior to joining Quark Thomson was director of research and development at Avaya, Inc., where he was responsible for product strategy, product roadmap planning, and overall product direction.
“Ronnie has a tremendous track record in leading software engineering teams as well as implementing strategies that work across a global research and product development operation,” said Ray Schiavone, Quark CEO. “I am confident he will be an asset as he takes over our desktop publishing and dynamic publishing engineering teams.”
Thomson was also previously the vice president of engineering at Centra, where he was responsible for the company’s award-winning web conferencing and real-time collaboration products. He also launched the Centra’s SaaS business with the release of CentraNow, a web-based meeting service.
“Quark combines a very strong strategy for dynamic publishing with a rich product portfolio - making it prime to be successful in the dynamic publishing space. I look forward to working with the team to further refine and implement our strategy across the enterprise and desktop businesses,” said Thomson.
