Time Inc. Launches MyFord Magazine

MyFord – the Ford owners’ magazine – has launched on PressRun as a free interactive edition available on the iPad. Published quarterly, MyFord is one of the most widely distributed titles of its kind in North America, with an impressive print circulation and loyal readership.
Produced by Time Inc.’s Content Services group, the goal was to take the print version and create in interactive publication that was not a simple, flat digital replica of the print magazine. The result is a much more dynamic presentation of content – a fully interactive and immersive experience that invites engagement with the reader.
As with all PressRun publications, there are several key factors that lead to an optimal user experience within the MyFord magazine. PressRun is the only digital publishing platform of its kind that renders real text, making content searchable and – critically – lightweight, while honoring page layout. The first issue, which includes several in-app videos, only weighs-in at 110Mb on the iPad — that’s one fifth of the size of typical magazines in the App store.
