First iPad Magazine Launched for Major UK Broadcaster

Today Mobile IQ announced that it has developed the BBC’s first full-length magazine app for the iPad.
From 16th November subscribers to BBC Focus will be able to download the complimentary app from the Apple App Store and access the iPad edition for free. BBC Focus is a monthly print magazine and website covering science and technology. It is produced by the BBC Magazines commercial division, has an ABC of 74,000. www.bbcfocusmagazine.com.
Subscribers will be able to access print content from each issue as well as a multitude of interactive features and additional content including slide shows, video, audio, internet links, 360 degree images as well as additional articles.
iPad only subscribers will be able to buy the magazine app on a month by month basis for £3.49. Users downloading the app will receive a sample demo issue before committing to pay. A new edition of the BBC Focus App for iPad will be available every month at approximately the same time as the print edition is circulated.
The BBC Focus App for iPad was developed by Mobile IQ using PressRun – Mobile IQs print-to-tablet publishing solution which enables publishers to create a truly digital experience with their content with the mimimum of effort from their conventional tooling.
Mobile IQ has already proved its pedigree with the BBC having developed its news application for the iPhone and iPad which has been downloaded over 2.2 million times since its launch in July.
