FRANCE - PARIS - 2/5/2009 -
Quark announced today that Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management, an asset management company, has chosen Atos Origin and Quark to produce a financial reports automation solution. Based on QuarkXPress Server, this dynamic publishing solution optimises company workflows, retains data integrity, and protects brand identity while granting considerable gains in productivity.
Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management is faced with the multiplication of data sources and the diversification of communications media in the banking sector, and the business and technology approach proposed by Atos Origin and Quark meets the needs of all players in the sector. The approach includes an enterprise content management (ECM) solution based on business-process automation for production of financial reports.
Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management produces a large number of financial reports (OPCVM Mutual Funds) that contain financial data and charts that must meet stringent standards. The group’s existing production process included manual operations that could be automated and rationalised.
An initial investigation
An initial investigation, carried out by Atos Origin with the aim of identifying the true needs of the bank, ended in the implementation of an ECM solution based on QuarkXPress Server. This solution combines the experience of Atos Origin in the financial sector and the business knowledge of Quark in the production of graphical documentation.
By combining the leadership Quark has acquired in dynamic publishing solutions with the expertise Atos Origin has in the banking sector, Quark illustrated its commitment to joining with reputable partners to provide clients with business solutions that meet their needs perfectly.
"The Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management case is exemplary in this respect," said Gildas Duval, Quark sales director, Southern Europe.
Productivity gains and graphical richness
The new system, which rolled out in just 4 months, enabled Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management to increase its quality of service thanks to tangible productivity gains. The group experienced a 50% reduction in production time before printing, perfect control of risk management, true relevance of delivered information, and graphical richness in both low- and high-definition PDF outputs.
"The Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management group tended to produce software in house," said Vincent Delaunay, the group’s development director. "But we had reached the limits of what we could achieve. The solution offered by Atos Origin and Quark convinced us that calling upon an outsourced solution was the right approach; it perfectly met our specifications, and - particularly because knowledge transfer was key - offered us perfect transparency in the process and follow-up after implementation".
"We applied our ECM process to meet Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management’s graphical production-automation requirements," said Jean-Marc Djian, ECM solution development director for Atos Origin France. "The platform implemented offers significant optimisation of the business processes and enhances productivity while improving quality of service. What is more, our collaboration with Quark enables us to expand our ECM solution to include automated documentation-production solutions, which interest an increasing number of our clients [who are] faced with a nearly exponential increase in the amount of data to process - data that often needs a graphical presentation that meets and complies with current regulatory requirements."
Toward multi-channel publishing
The collaboration between Atos Origin and Quark highlighted the possible alignment of needs of all players in the banking sector. This two-pronged approach, which merged technological and business needs, convinced Crédit Mutuel-CIC Asset Management’s representatives.
The solution supplied by Atos Origin and Quark enables considerable productivity gains while ensuring control of brand identity and data integrity through all channels of communication, which is the key to multi-channel dynamic publishing.
Atos Origin's ECM solution provides solutions to the following challenges: Regulatory compliance, back-office productivity, product life-cycle management for clients, knowledge management, flexibility to adapt to market changes, and quality of service for customers. It covers the key software technologies that enable all types of digital content to be captured, created, managed, published, and retained. With its presence in the three main service sectors (consulting, systems integration, and managed operations), Atos Origin is able to work with its clients throughout the four major steps in the ECM project life cycle - organisation and governance, definition and implementation of business processes, change management, and technical infrastructure and its operation.
